We are seeking a talented individual to fill the role of Director of Plant Operations. In this position, you will administer and direct all maintenance programs and repair work to maintain the buildings, grounds and equipment. Procure or generate all utilities and their distribution systems. Coordinate activities with other departments to ensure that all equipment and building repairs are performed safely and operate efficiently. Periodically inspect buildings and equipment to determine need for alteration or repairs, and assure that the work is properly performed.
Responsibilities:
Determine the priority of work to be done - assign appropriate crews; work with other departments on scheduling of work and estimate costs for special projects; assist in coordinating all repair work done by outside contractors
Spot check work to ensure that it meets standards and that safety and building regulations are complied with
Ensure the facility is covered by key personnel in the event of an operational emergency
Responsible for compliance testing of life safety equipment and its inspections
Maintain medical gas systems (liquid oxygen, nitrous oxide, etc.) and reorder as needed
Assist in the upkeep of the phone system, all peripherals and building key systems; administer all preventive maintenance programs; assist in ordering necessary supplies and replacement parts for equipment
Handle internal relocation of offices, personnel and equipment
Qualifications
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred.
Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may substitute for education requirements.
Licenses/Certification:
Appropriate horsepower rating certification for steam generating equipment at hospital.
Experience:
Minimum three years related experience in a healthcare setting.
