Research College of Nursing, a private, non-sectarian institution of higher learning, seeks an experienced and visionary leader for the position of President. Founded in 1905, Research College of Nursing (RCoN) has been a leader in nursing education within the greater Kansas City metropolitan area. RCoN offers two undergraduate options: the traditional B.S.N. and the accelerated B.S.N option for second-degree students. RCoN is sponsored by Research Medical Center, a dual campus facility owned by HCA, which provides quaternary care to patients from a 150-mile region surrounding Kansas City. RCoN students benefit from the broad array of patients and services through clinical experiences at HCA Midwest Health facilities.

The President is the chief executive officer of RCoN and is responsible to the Board for the general administration of the College. The President will set the standard of intellectual engagement and accomplishment for RCoN, providing strategic vision and operational leadership, creating an environment and community that support RCoN's faculty, staff, and its students. The President will take a leadership role in fostering a positive and productive work environment that promotes excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.

The ideal candidate will have a proven record of leadership in higher education along with a commitment to excellence and innovation. A doctorate from an accredited institution and at least ten years of progressively responsible leadership in academic program administration, inclusive of health science and nursing, are required. The candidate must demonstrate high integrity, strategic and dynamic leadership, a willingness to take risks, and the ability to build strong coalitions and collaborate effectively within complex academic healthcare environments.
