? Must have Cardiac experience, Registered Nurse (BSN) or EP a plus
? Bachelors degree required, Master?s degree preferred in Kinesiology, Clinical Exercise Physiology or a related discipline

JOB SUMMARY
The Cardiac Rehabilitation Manager is accountable for managing the operations of the Cardiac Rehabilitation and other areas as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
- Manages the Cardiac (and Pulmonary) Rehabilitation Program, including outpatient exercise therapy and patient education.
- Communicates with various Medical Center departments to coordinate services, resolve operational problems and improve the quality of patient care.
- Oversees that patient care is consistent with identified nursing standards of care and that it meets the needs of the patients and the goals of the organization.
- Partners with others to help with problem identification and resolution, cost containment issues, implementation of new services and systems/performance measures.
- Recommends, implements, and monitors budget for the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.
- Prepares monthly reports of activities, procedures, expenditures and revenues.
- Examines costs, and recommends and institutes procedural changes.
- Manages staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure and legal work environment; and developing personal growth opportunities.
- Creates a working environment that allows empowerment of caregivers to give quality patient care.
- Facilitates training and ongoing skill improvement of qualified staff.
- Develops and implements a program of continuing education for professional, management, and technical team members.
- Remains knowledgeable of trends and innovations in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation practices.
- Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, mentoring, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
- Provides information to staff in a timely manner; facilitates and helps nursing and health care research. Incorporates current research findings into clinical practice and care delivery.
- Acts as a technical resource to staff, clinics, the institution and community.
- Provides effective in-services and other related educational offerings to enhance the knowledge of the staff.
- Serves on various Medical Center committees, and participates in System-wide project and councils.
- Contributes to the effective operations of the institution by participating in the strategic planning process as it relates to the clinical areas, department of nursing and division of cardiology.
- Ensures staff input is communicated to administration during planning processes and assumes responsibility for area-based strategic planning and implementation.
- Participates in the Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process to better serve customer needs and to improve the quality of services provided.
- Ensures compliance with applicable standards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and other regulatory requirements. Takes corrective action as needed.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
- Knowledge of cardiovascular health and rehabilitation, wellness, and the implications to person hospital associates, corporate, and community patients.
- Highly preferred to have a specialty certification from ACSM and/or AACVPR and more programs deemed beneficial for the department continuity and growth.
- Must be able to administer the following: Pulse check, Blood pressure measurement, Body Fat (caliper method) test, Graded exercise tests, 6-minute walk test, ECG electrode attachment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule; including early morning hours, and evening hours.
- Have a personal interest in primary and secondary cardiac prevention and promote a positive image in the community to market health promotion.
- Basic medical terminology knowledge pertaining to heart disease.
- Recognize abnormal ECG tracing.
- Must exhibit exceptional social and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and data entry.

QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION - Bachelor's
- EXPERIENCE - 5 Years of Experience
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Cert Cardiac Rehab Prof (CCRP)
- ACLS (ACLS): ACLS and BLS required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
