Job Summary
Under general supervision, receives and distributes all items ordered for Denver Health operations.
Essential Functions:
Utilizes hand held scanner to record all package transactions from carrier to the end user. (10%)
Prioritizes packages based on delivery expectations, delivering first overnight and next day air first and so on (10%)
Physically delivers all packages, on time, to the assigned locations, on and off campus. (10%)
Acts the service contact with departments on assigned routes. (10%)
Maintains assigned vehicle according to Denver Health vehicle management guidelines and policy. (10%)
Determines necessary action in situations arising during the absence of the manager. Establishes priorities and coordinates work activities (i.e. transportation with supply deliveries) to meet internal/external customer needs. (10%)
Keeps supervisor advised of operational and other work-related problems and solves those that do not require administrative disposition. (10%)
Maintains a travel log of shift activities. (10%)
Picks up and delivers USPS mail from the post office. Sorts and delivers all mail internally and meters all outgoing mail. Covers Courier routes when necessary (5%)
Sorts, distributes, and meters all incoming and outgoing mail, both interoffice and USPS (5%)
Transfers stat lab specimens from Denver Health ACS clinics to the main core lab (5%)
Picks up and delivers a variety of items within a defined city route and within specified facilities. (5%)
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
Work Experience:
One year of warehouse or distribution experience required
Licenses:
Colorado Driver's License Class R - DMV - Department of Motor Vehicles required
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge inventory management, warehouse operations, and distribution helpful but not required.
Ability to communicate effectively using the appropriate communication channel.
Basic knowledge of distribution equipment, such as, pallet jacks, hand carts, and forklifts.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
