RUSH University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution, and the teaching hospital for RUSH Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Breast Imaging Radiologist in the Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine. Breast Imagers at Rush are expected to interpret screening and diagnostic 2D/3D tomosynthesis mammograms, breast MRIs, ABUS, and Contrast Enhanced Mammograms. Breast imagers perform ultrasound, MRI, contrast enhanced, stereotactic, and tomosynthesis guided core biopsies and pre-operative localizations with Savi-Scout localizers and wires. Breast imagers participate in the multidisciplinary breast tumor board conference and teach residents and medical students in the clinic and through conference presentations. The successful candidates will possess professional qualifications that include board certification in diagnostic radiology, fellowship training in breast imaging, MD or MD/PhD (or equivalent), and have experience in clinical and/or translational research.
Department highlights
· The Division of Breast Imaging team consists of 15 dedicated breast imaging radiologists
· The position will be academically aligned with the Department of Radiology and operationally aligned with the Cancer Center
· The Breast Imaging section equipment includes Siemens and Hologic state of the art tomosynthesis units, GE Logiq 10 ultrasound units, GE ABUS, Contrast Enhanced Mammography capability, Prone and Upright Stereotactic biopsy units, GE and Siemens Breast MRI with dedicated breast coils with biopsy capability,
· The Fellowship program is starting next academic year with 1 fellow anticipated
· Ongoing supported clinical research
Our new, state-of-the-art Cancer Center facility in Chicago serves as a hub for services throughout our health system. Our core programs are supported by multi-disciplinary teams from medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology, radiology, research and bioinformatics, clinical operations, and dedicated clinical and support staff, including patient navigators.
