The role you’ll contribute:
• Makes independent assessments related to injury/illness prevention and wellness; performs clinical evaluation and diagnosis; provides emergency care; Will be available outside of normal working hours, as required by the USTA’s schedule as appropriate. May support multiple programs and schedules during the course of a week. • Maintains medical records that meet legal and regulatory standards. • Abides by federal, state, for the proper storage, transportation, dispensing, and documentation of prescribed and over-the-counter medications • Collaborates with contract leadership to define and execute policies and procedures specific to the contractual agreement. • Works in conjunction with the needs and schedules of the USTA National Campus Management • Participates in program and process changes as a result of performance improvement activities. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department. • Acts as a liaison between the patient/partner the appropriate medical service line to facilitate the resolution of medical services or operational issues affecting physicians, clients, or patients/partners. Articulates and responds quickly to issues identified by physicians, patient/partners, and clients as appropriate, coordinating medical care on behalf of the patient/partner in support of a comprehensive health care team. • Promotes the AdventHealth comprehensive care team within the hospital to the partners and community. Communicates information to AdventHealth staff concerning marketing and advertising efforts, competitor and consumer information, marketing guidelines, partner/client needs and expectations. Understands return on investment, including new services, repositioning of existing services and legislative changes that can impact marketability. • May oversee the care provided by athletic training student aides, volunteers, and interns. May affiliate with CAATE accredited program as directed by supervisor and participate as accredited clinical instructor for local Universities. • Identifies the need for patient/caregiver or athletic training student and/or student aides’ education and utilizes each opportunity for teaching on a planned or spontaneous basis. • Willingly adjusts and adapts to work extended hours when necessary, or when requested. • Works proactively and independently, showing active and good problem-solving skills. • As needed, assists with patient care following the Athletic Trainer, clinical job description “Duties and Responsibilities” section. • In collaboration with the supervising physician, reviews, updates, and rehearses emergency action plans “EAP” with Event officials, coaches, and administrators on an annual basis or as needed. • In collaboration with USTA Co-CMO physicians, establish a standing operating procedure with USTA Co-CMO physicians for patient care guidelines. • Complies with Compliance Plan, rules, and regulations of all local, state, and federal agencies, and with the standards of all accrediting bodies and payers as evident through documentation reviews, tracers and rounds results. • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • Must obtain a degree in Athletic Training or related field from an accredited program
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED: • FL State license as a certified athletic trainer ‘ATC” or eligible for state licensure • NATABOC Certified Athletic Trainer
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED: • Master’s Level education • Experience with Tennis at the college level
• Entry-level professional competency of Athletic Training theory, principles, and applications as defined in competencies departmental policy • Able to communicate in English Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and G Suite technology
General Summary
The Certified Athletic Trainer –USTA Events is a healthcare professional specializing in prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of injuries and illnesses. Provides quality evidence-based athletic health services, as well as develops and implements comprehensive health care programs. Builds and maintains strategic relationships between physicians, their office staff, Hospital administration, athletic trainers, athletes, and their parents. Fulfills the staff and medical requirement of contracts or partnership agreements for assigned areas/events. Identifies and resolves issues timely that affect our medical staff and the effective delivery of health care. Is available as needed, outside of normal working hours, as required by AdventHealth Director of Sports Partnerships Operations to treat and support within the scope of practice.
