Role Purpose
The Millwright is involved in comprehensive industrial and mechanical projects. Basic millwright skills include installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial machinery and equipment. The position aligns and replaces a machine?s individual parts and replace and install new equipment. The millwright follow troubleshooting steps to determine problems with industrial machinery and address the problem. The role also moves and relocates machinery on- and off-site. The Senior Millwright is the first point of contact when equipment goes down.
Responsibilities
Participating in the Preventive Maintenance program on all equipment for continuous improvement of all machines. Keeping detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation. Review and interpret complex engineering specifications, schematics, and blueprints to determine work procedures.
Assembling and installing new machinery. Installs robots and programs electronic controls. Transfer equipment to the applicable site for maintenance to avoid contamination or safety hazards. Operating machine tools to fabricate parts required during overhaul, maintenance or set-up of machinery. Installing stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to layout plans.
Being the first point of contact with management when equipment goes down. Visit various construction sites to assess potential problems or needs. Collaborate with construction workers or engineers when using the machines. Adhering to workplace safety policies, regulations and compliances.
Collect and store distinct machinery parts. Sharpening and maintaining machine tools. Work with a range of hand tools including measuring tools, welding and brazing equipment. Using various equipment such as hoists, dollies, rollers, and trucks, move machinery when needed.
Ensuring machines work properly by disassemble and reassemble machine parts when transporting or repairing them. Inspecting and examining machinery and equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions. Ensuring operating safety devices function properly on completion of repairs, modifications and installations. Maintaining a clean and environmentally safe work area by cleaning, lubricating and performing other routine maintenance work on machineries.
