The Indiana University Health Neuroscience Center is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our collaborative and supportive Neurosurgery team at Methodist Hospital!
Position Details:
Full-time
Weekend day shift (Friday-Saturday-Sunday) OR (Saturday-Sunday-Monday)
3x12s (6am-6:30pm)
No call
100% inpatient
Team includes 14 physicians and 13 APPs
Neurotrauma, neurovascular, and neurosurgical patients (i.e. stenosis, brain and spinal cord tumors, ICU)
Key Responsibilities:
See neurosurgery consults
Patient care coordination
Ordering diagnostic imaging and labs
Perform complete neurological exams
Interpret data and imaging results
Assist in developing the plan of care for patients
Procedures include intracranial pressure monitors, extraventricular drains, lumbar punctures and shunt tap.
Qualifications:
Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible
ACNP, AGNP, FNP or PA certification required
Practicing APP with neurosurgery experience preferred
At least 1 year of Neuro Critical Care, Ortho spine bedside experience preferred
New grads wo completed clinical hours with department will also be considered
