This position supports the Textile product-line of Environmental Management Service at the Miami VA Healthcare System with supported Community-based Outpatient Clinics. The purpose of this position is to provide on-site laundry services for items such as inpatient personal laundry, inpatient and outpatient units, employee VA-issued clothing, cubicle curtains specialty items. The position performs laundry duties & collects & transports textiles to various facility locations. ["Major Duties: Physically collects soiled textiles, uniforms and linens from the soiled linen areas and chute rooms, and other designated collection points throughout the facility. Unloads the bulk clean linen carts from the designated textile linen processing facility, onto the clean linen flow rack, sorting by item such as linens, scrubs, pajamas, patient gowns, etc. and refolding items as needed. Daily monitoring of linen PAR levels on the units and restocking linen upon visual or verbal request, makes linen PAR level adjustment recommendations to enhance effectiveness and efficient of the Textile Care Program, and monitors inventory levels of the clean linen distribution room. Fulfills emergency requests for linen by placing into linen cart and physically pushing or carrying it to the needed area. Sorts and inspects clean linen from the delivery linen trucks, removing all linens with rips, tears, holes, stains, or debris, removing items from the clean linens and placing them in a separate bag to be ragged-out or reprocessed.
