Title: Lactation Consultant

Schedule: Full-Time Days

Location: 2300 Lone Star Road, Mansfield, TX 76063

·   Provide wholistic care for patients that extends to the spiritual level by praying with patients and families.  Chaplains are available to meet with patients, families, and team members 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to provide spiritual support.

·   Help develop a brand new $150 million community hospital and medical office building that will provide services such as Emergency Services, Medical/Surgical, ICU, Women’s Services, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Interventional Cardiology and Gastroenterology.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

·   Assess, reassess, develops, implements, and evaluates a plan of care, as a member of the multidisciplinary care team, in conjunction with the patient and patient’s family.  The lactation consultant will:

• •     Obtain and document an appropriate history of the breastfeeding mother and child. 
  •     Systemically collect objective and subjective information, including but not limited to the physical appearance and health status of mother and baby.
  •     Assessment information will be discussed with the mother, documented in the medical record, and communicated to the primary health care provider as appropriate. 
  •      Analyze assessment information to identify concerns and/or problems and develop a plan of care based on identified concerns or problems and the mother’s breastfeeding goals.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

·       Active Texas or Compact R.N. license required

·       Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

·       IBLCE Certification through the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners.

·       Basic Life Support (BLS) certification 

·       Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
