ChristianaCare' Medical Group Surgical Services is looking to hire a Full Time Senior Office Assistant to support the Surgical Services practice at Foulk Road, Wilmington.

The Senior Office Assistant is the first point of contact between the practice and the patient and is responsible for creating a friendly, welcoming calm and efficient environment for the practice. The Senior Office Assistant serves patients with poise and compassion virtually or on-site, fields phone calls, answers patient questions, registers patients and updates record and represents the entire practice every time there is interaction with a patient. The Senior Office Assistant will be working with a small but team-oriented frontline staff including one Office Assistant and a Medical Assistant. This role requires flexibility to travel to the Newark location to provide additional support.

Work Schedule:

• Monday- Friday: 8am- 4:30pm

• No weekends or holidays.

Key Responsibilities

• Assists with the training of Office Assistant Staff

• Subject Matter Expert on Office Assistant operations/procedures/processes

• Point of contact for Office Assistant regarding questions, concerns and guidance with Office Assistant operations, procedures, and processes

• Schedules appointments with awareness of insurance, provider, and location for virtual and on-site appointments

• Greet and interact with patients in a professional manner, virtually or on-site in order to collect required demographic and financial information. Processes/verifies referral information and eligibility for insurance reimbursement as needed.

• Collects payments according to insurance requirements

• Verifies insurance coverage & coordinates referrals

• Performs day end reconciliation of appointments & payments received.

• Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

• High School Graduate or Equivalent

• 2 years' experience in a medical office practice setting is required; 3 years' experience is preferred.
