The Oklahoma City VA Healthcare System (OCVAHCS) is actively recruiting a board certified, board eligible full-time Staff Physician- Breast Imaging Radiologist to help care for our Veterans. The Radiology Physician is accountable to the Chief of Radiology Service. The full-time radiologist will perform a wide variety of diagnostic imaging examinations, ultrasound of breasts and biopsies, MRI's and be responsible for monitoring the quality of diagnostic interpretations. Radiologists will pre-screen high-risk, high-cost, and high-demand examinations (CT, US, MRI, Mammography, Interventional Procedures) prior to being scheduled to ensure that the ordered imaging examinations are not only clinically indicated but also safe.
Radiologists will appropriately order CT and MRI examinations in a timely manner before they are performed. Radiologists thoroughly and appropriately document their interpretations, procedures and health care decisions in the organization's electronic medical record (CPRS). The Radiology Physician examines, evaluates, and manages patients referred for radiology consultations and procedures as appropriate; interpretation of general nuclear medicine studies and/or breast imaging. The candidate should be able to work with our radiology colleagues to provide seamless care to the veterans we serve.
Affiliation with an academic institution affiliate, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, is optional. The OCVAMC is located in Oklahoma City, OK and is the “Flagship” for the Oklahoma VA Health Care System (OCVAHCS) - a Joint Commission accredited, referral level 1a (high complexity) facility. The Radiology department serves patients across the spectrum of inpatient and outpatient care for more than 63,000 veterans in an area that includes 48 counties in Oklahoma and 2 counties in North Central Texas. Work Schedule
Full-time, Monday-Friday 08:00-4:30, plus on call duties as needed. As inpatients are on the hospitalist service, call duties are relatively light. (May be required to work evenings or weekends).
U.S. Citizens receive preference – non-U.S. Citizens may be considered.
Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the U.S.
Board Certified in Radiology preferred, but Board Eligibility may also be considered. Additional board certification in Internal Medicine is preferred.
Starting pay is $400,000.00 per year.
A sign-on bonus will be offered, and there is the potential for an annual performance bonus of up to $15,000.
