The David Geffen School of Medicine(DGSOM), Department of Urology is seeking to hire a full-time QualitativeResearch Coordinator to join the Population-Health Research Core (PHRC). Theideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in researchmethodology and study coordination and logistics. This position presents anexciting opportunity to be part of a fast-paced team responsible for providing theA-Zs of population health research--development, implementation, anddissemination. Under the direction of the PHRC Manager, the QualitativeResearch Coordinator will work across various departments with a variety ofpersonnel and leading health care researchers (i.e., Principal Investigators,Sub-Investigators, trainees, and national/international collaborators) tocomplete the following duties:
- Serve as a subject-matter resource inqualitative research methodologies to guide and assist in the development ofqualitative research studies
- Assist in the development of applications to besubmitted to the appropriate regulatory bodies (i.e., IRBs)
- Assure compliance with all aspects of individualstudies ensuring that protocols are completed accurately, safely, and in atimely manner
- Be responsible for research assessment and studyparticipant intervention under the supervision of the Principal Investigator
- Be responsible for relevant regulatory andresearch practice guidelines
- Work with the PI to refine study protocols andprocedures, as needed
- Participate in patient recruitment andenrollment, data collection, source documentation, quality assurance,regulatory submissions of events as needed, and protocol dissemination torequired study participants.
- Facilitate and participate in regular meetingswith the study team to provide updates on research progress
- Bachelor's Degree required. Master's in health sciencefield, such as nursing, public health, biology, etc. preferred.
- Minimum of one year of research experience.
- Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) - skill in speakingclearly, distinctly, and using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain andconvey information. Required only for specific positions.
- Demonstrated population health-based researchexperience, with basic knowledge of subject matter, including working knowledgeof good clinical practices for clinical research.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience inconducting individual qualitative interviews, focus groups, development ofinterview and focus group guides, analysis of qualitative data using ATLAS.tiand/or Dedoose.
- Ability to work efficiently and complete taskswith a high degree of accuracy.
- Demonstrated organizational skills to handlemultiple research projects for efficiency and cost-effectiveness, includinghandling work delegated by more than one individual.
- Experience in performing study participantenrollment, eligibility evaluations and interventions under the direction ofthe Principal Investigator with diverse population using strong experience andskills, as assigned.
- Analytical skills to analyze information,practices, and procedures. Formulate logical and objective conclusions and makerecommendations for effective solutions.
