Under the direction of the Unified Communications Manager, the Clinical Informaticist serves as an innovator, researcher and performs troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of existing software/hardware applications.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
Design, build, test, implement, and support new modules within their portfolio and/or service line.
Leverage clinical experience with critical thinking, science and technology to be a catalyst for change and adoption of technology that improve the patient, family, and clinician's experience.
Must achieve in-depth knowledge of the software/hardware applications and operational/clinical workflows, as well as understand the policies, procedures and constraints of the clinical or business operation supported by the application.
Collaborates with business owners, vendors, and ISS team members to evaluate and recommend solutions to complex problems and requests.
With patient safety and quality of care as a main priority, the informaticist will lead projects for the design and implementation of various new workflows and applications to enhance patient care and communication for the UCLA Health Enterprise.
Thisis a flex-hybrid role which will require you to be onsite at least 5% of time or asrequired by operational need; there are no reimbursements for travel to"home office" location. Each employee must complete a FlexWorkAgreement with their manager which will outline arrangement parameters and aidsboth parties in fully understanding expectations. Arrangements are regularly evaluated and are subject to termination.
Salaryoffers are determined based on various factors including, but not limited to,qualifications, experience, and equity. The full salary range for this positionis $102,500 - $227,700 Annually. The budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonablyexpects to pay for this position is approximately $140,000 - $160,000 Annually.
Qualifications
Required Skills and Abilities:
Three to five years of acute care hospital experience
Bachelor's degree in information technology, healthcare IT, or similar field
Basic Project Management Skills (ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, maintain issues list, manage project plan)
Demonstrated skill in system workflow and business process flow analysis and design
Prior experience with clinical IT systems preferred
Effective leadership skills and strong customer service orientation
Demonstrated ability to influence and shape consensus
Demonstrate ability to establish and maintain a spirit of cooperation and respect, flourish in an unstructured environment and always engage in professional and ethical conduct
High functioning team skills, including active listening, rapport building, and effective written and verbal communication
Strong communication and follow-up skills
Demonstrate proficiency with information systems technology, which also includes Microsoft Office Suite, email, intranet, internet, and other systems.
Demonstrated skill in system workflow and business process flow analysis and design.
