The hours of operation for our practices are Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm. Your primary schedule will be during those hours, with periodic need to work outside your schedule to serve our patients. What does Workforce Development/Clinical Educator do? Under the direction of leadership, this position plans and assists in the implementation of education programs for clinical staff. Provides a clinical orientation for new employees and ongoing education for all clinical staff to focus on standardization and best practice. Evaluates, develops, and maintains clinical staff competency. Audits and analyzes processes for continuous improvement. What does a typical day on the job look like? Oversees the development and implementation of system-wide workforce development initiatives. These include the MA academy, MA to RN development programs, workforce leadership initiatives, and ongoing staff development opportunities. Participates in hiring interviews, participant selection, and overall coordination of the medical assistant training program. Coordinates student placement in the primary care clinics based on location and previous healthcare experience and rotation through specialty clinics. Lead on-site study days with EMR training, what to expect with curriculum, how to study for the CCMA exam, assist with skills training and check-off on those skills completed on-site (vital signs, glucometer, suture, and staple removal). Rotate through clinics to check-in, help train, and support clinic preceptors and Academy participants. Complete a post-program completion check-in with Academy participants 1 month after successful completion of the program. Develops and coordinates the orientation of clinical staff. Presents information, using a variety of instructional techniques and formats such as role playing, simulations, team exercise, group discussions, videos, and lectures. Trains and incorporates standardized workflow utilizing the EMR. Contributes to quality patient care by developing, planning, and implementing educational programs. Evaluates and maintains competency of clinical staff. Designs education materials and other documents such as handouts, manuals, and exercises. Develops appropriate evaluation and testing materials for all training activities. Creates reference tools to support compliance and reinforce key concepts Monitors current regulatory requirements and best practices to incorporate standardization into clinical training curriculum. What are the requirements for the job? Bachelor's degree in nursing; Master's degree in nursing preferred Current Missouri Registered Nurse license Minimum two to three years of experience in clinical education with performance improvement knowledge. BLS (Basic Life Support) from AHA (American Heart Association) Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office programs including, but not limited to: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Power Point. EMR experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as demonstrated by the ability to develop training materials and present group training sessions that are well received and produce a demonstrated improvement in staff performance. Strong organizational and prioritization skills as demonstrated by the ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently. Excellent interpersonal skills characterized by tact, diplomacy, and articulateness. Basic computer skills, self-motivating, participates as a positive team member and is accountable for own work responsibilities.
