The Lead Occupational Health Practitioner will provide, engage and influence worker health protection and worker wellbeing for all Phillips 66 Business. This is moderately complex work requiring technical knowledge, interpersonal and communication skills to partner with the business in the delivery of Occupational Health Services. There is a need for thorough knowledge of Occupational Health, General Wellbeing and HSE Risk Assessment and Management. The role manages health and environmental components in operations and projects involving many stakeholders, demonstrating influencing skills and leadership. The position will be in Bartlesville, OK reporting to the General Manager of Health Services. This role will also provide support to other local and regional business, including Mid-Stream, under the scope of P66 Health Services.
Responsibilities May Include:
Performing pre-employment and regulatory medical examinations, including interpreting labs, EKGs, PFTs, and audiograms.
Conducting DOT exams.
Assisting with patient referrals to primary care physicians or specialists, as indicated.
Appropriately evaluating, treating, and documenting occupational and limited non-occupational health injuries and illnesses.
Performing return to work evaluations, clearances, and fitness for duty examinations.
Maintaining confidential personnel medical records using an electronic medical record.
Serving as a resource to employees through health education and assistance with health promotions.
Assisting with management of medical absences to insure timely return-to-work.
Promoting employee wellness and fitness.
Counseling employees regarding safety sensitive medical issues.
Promoting working relationships with community health and safety resources.
Ensuring compliance with State and Federal regulatory requirements as they pertain to medical issues.
Responding to on-site medical emergencies, as deemed necessary.
Supervising up to six employees.
Taking on the leadership role that ensures the goals and the vision of Phillips 66 are relayed to the team, employees are recognized when warranted, and positive team morale is established and maintained.
Partnering with HSE and Business in the delivery and assurance of technical and professional aspect of Occupational Health e.g. Medical examination, diagnosis and treatment, Medical Surveillance and Fitness to Work evaluations, Injury and illness care and disability management Travel health, delivery of substance abuse testing and policy compliance, Episodic non occupational injury and illness care, etc.
Supporting IT systems, performance monitoring, digitalization opportunities and innovative technologies.
Assessing and ensuring compliance within Company and Local and Federal legislative requirements.
Providing Health and HSE Business Partnering at skilled level – training, assessment, review, assurance and technical advice.
Providing Health and HSE support and advice to Peers, Staff, and Company stakeholders.
Leveraging on HSE, Environmental and Occupational Health skills to provide high value business partnering opportunities to ongoing business and projects. Increase reputation and community goodwill.
Identifying opportunities to add value in the context of social and environmental health to protect and strengthen licence to operate.
Interacting with internal and external stakeholders in Health, HSE, Business, Join Ventures, Contractors, Regulatory Agencies and Professional Peers.
Supporting implementation & utilization of standardized health processes.
Reporting and maintaining protocols of Supervision with assigned provider and provides standard of care as per State Medical Board regulation.
Required Qualifications:
Legally authorized to work in the job posting country
Master’s degree in nursing (APRN) or in PA studies
Advanced practice provider training from an accredited US Program – Physician’s Assistant or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (certified APRN OR certified PA-C)
Current licensure in state of practice
5 or more years of experience in the medical field
3 or more years of experience as an adult primary care provider
Current CPR and ACLS training
Able and willing to travel to different work locations
Preferred Qualifications:
Occupational Health nursing training & certification
Knowledge of regulations affecting Occupational & Environmental Health and Safety
Ability to evaluate, select and implement progressive levels of digital OH technology including EHR, and its effective use in Health Care Management
Ability to effectively work in multidisciplinary teams
Ability to prioritize & manage tasks effectively, balance multiple activities/objectives, cope with occasionally high levels of work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment & deliver results
Ability to lead and or participate in moderate complexity local and regional projects
Ability to develop and express ideas and opinions concisely
