The Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Kentucky seeks a leader in Electrophysiology to serve in the role of Section Chief. This position represents an opportunity to shape the future of the section within a successful and growing CV Division providing you with a supporting framework for comprehensive and team-based heart care. The Division encompasses the full range of cardiology and its subspecialties, including a dynamic multi- modality CV imaging team performing more than 20,000 diagnostic imaging studies annually, nationally recognized advanced heart failure and recovery program with expertise in mechanical circulatory support, heart & lung transplantation and pulmonary hypertension, interventional and structural heart services and an adult congenital heart disease program. The Gill Heart and Vascular Institute offers clinical programs for cardio- oncology disorders, women’s heart health, infiltrative cardiomyopathies, sports cardiology and more. Development of an Atrial Fibrillation Program is part of the current strategic focus as we expand resources and expertise to reduce practice variation and improve clinical outcomes. This program complements the recently established VT Program. We seek a leader who has a demonstrated commitment to science, education and clinical practice, the ability to build and lead a diverse group and work with hospital partners in a collaborative approach, success in promoting or producing scholarship and funding, and the ability to mentor early career faculty and trainees. Expertise as a program director leading a Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology fellowship, director of a lead management program, an established leader within a national society or medical journal, or a track record of securing extramural funding or leading clinical trials is highly sought.
