Responsible for receptionist and clerical duties, which contribute to the workflow of the therapy departments. Responsible for providing administrative support to departments by managing mail, assisting with admitting and scheduling of patients, maintaining files, preparing reports and correspondence, processing paperwork for charges and ordering department supplies. The Insurance Authorization Specialist is also responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely pre-authorization of therapy services including initial submission, answering associated communication, updating the EHRs, scanning associated documentation, and working with insurers, adjusters, and outside facilities to assist in obtaining authorizations.

Demonstrates the ability to deal with pressure to meet deadlines, to be accurate, and to handle constantly changing situations. Demonstrates the ability to deal with a variety of people, deal with stressful situations, and handle conflict.

Will perform all job duties or job tasks as assigned. Will follow and adhere to all requirements, regulations and procedures of any licensing board or agency. Must comply with all Benefis Health System's organization policies and procedures.

• High School graduate or equivalent
• One (1) year of healthcare experience preferred
• Medical terminology required
