We seek someone to lead our efforts in achieving and maintaining ANCC Magnet Recognition. A transformational leader with enthusiasm to inspire and empower nursing staff and healthcare professionals to improve patient quality of care, accountability, outcomes, and nursing practice.
Key responsibilities:
Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and coordinate structures and processes
Direct and lead the operational, financial, programmatic, and clinical aspects of the program
Assist in the nursing department’s overall QI and regulatory activities
Develop and manage operational initiatives with measurable outcomes
Constantly assess services, identify problems, utilize data to analyze and propose new methods for solutions
Collaborate with nursing leadership and clinical nurses to ensure the hospital culture reflects all Magnet components and identify opportunities for ongoing nursing excellence in particular in the areas of quality and accountability
Participate on hospital-wide and external committees to advance a culture of nursing excellence through special events, Magnet campaign and local/regional/national magnet-related conferences
Create and maintain a work environment that fosters professional growth
Successful candidate should possess:
A Bachelor’s degree; BSN – Master’s Degree required. MSN in Public Health, Business Administration, Science or Art
Minimum of 3-5 years progressive experience in healthcare management or healthcare education
Current New York State RN license; CPHQ/Lean Six Sigma Certification highly preferred
Prior healthcare industry experience, specifically in the areas of quality or regulatory management, project management and/or change management
Strong knowledge of data reporting procedures by TJC, IPRO, DOH and NDNQI
Versed in smartsheets, Excel, data extraction and analytics
Effective organizational, planning and project management abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate and resolve conflicts
In-depth knowledge of healthcare industry policies
