The Fresno VA is actively recruiting a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist to help care for our Veterans – American’s Heroes. Selected candidate will be considered for a faculty appointment at UCSF, Fresno, & be involved with education & teaching of Gastroenterology fellow in our fellowship program plus medical residents, students, & other providers.
The Gastroenterology (GI) physician is responsible for providing comprehensive medical and selected specialty services for outpatients, inpatients, and nursing home patients. The physician will provide patient care to veterans in the areas of Gastroenterology in the form of consultative care. The Gastroenterologist will diagnose, treat, and manage patients with gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases according to standard, usual, and acceptable methods, and techniques. Provide services such as inpatient and outpatient consultation services related to GI and liver diseases. The physician is responsible for overseeing the administration of conscious sedation during GI procedures. The Physician performs GI procedures including but not limited to EGD, complex stricture dilation, EGD with PEG, colonoscopies/polypectomy, push enteroscopy, GI manometry, Bravo study and other advance procedures.
The physician is required to actively participate and lead in research and education/training activities. The physician must meet requirements for academic appointment with University of California San Francisco Fresno Medical Education Program. The incumbent will be involved in the education and training of residents, fellows, medical students, and non-physician clinical trainees, participating in ground rounds, and lectures. Administrative, direct patient care, teaching, and research are all integrated into the activities and decision processes of the staff Gastroenterologist physician.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
Licensure:Full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
Board Certification in Gastroenterology preferred, but Board Eligibility may also be considered.
Expected Salary range $300,000 to $400,000, May include up to $15,000 in Annual Performance Bonus
