JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an Optician to work in our North Carolina Eye, Ear, Nose and Throat optical, 4102 N Roxboro Rd (and periodically fill in at other triangle locations) location to be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients. The schedule for this position will be between the hours of 8:00AM - 5:00PM. Monday through Friday, with no Saturdays. No Holidays.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Display a professional attitude, greets patients
Analyze and interpret prescriptions, including prism
Determine facial and eye measurements to be sent to lab.
Assist the patient in selecting appropriate frames and lenses by assessing individual patient needs.
Inspect eyewear so that it meets ANSI standards
Deliver prescription eyewear/vision aids and instruct customers in use and care.
Provide follow-up services, including eyewear adjustment, repair, and replacement.
Assist in various business duties, including frame and lens inventory, supply, product display and maintenance.
Send orders for corrective eyewear and other vision aids to lab or vendors daily or when needed.
Train patients on how to remove and insert contact lenses
May assist in training new personnel.
Monitor and control all expenses pertaining to assigned location including; lab costs, frame purchases, and all other miscellaneous and controllable expenses.
Officemate and Epic proficiency
Assist with inventory of frames once a year
Periodically monitor ordering and delivery or turnaround time of eyeglass orders and contact lens orders at assigned location.
Assist patients and coworkers in troubleshooting/problem solving
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
One-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Licensed by North Carolina State Board of Opticians
