Job Summary:
The Center for Health Behavior and Health Education seeks to improve health through interdisciplinary research into behaviors and psychosocial factors affecting disease management and health outcomes. This position will support a research program, led by Dr. Lindsay Mayberry, focuses on development and testing of interventions to support self-management among adults with chronic conditions like diabetes and infrastructure to support patient-engaged research. The candidate will join a high-functioning and productive team. The ideal candidate will have prior experience coordinating research operations, high-quality organizational and leadership skills, attention to detail and high motivation to identify and take ownership of needs. This is a full-time position which may include a hybrid schedule (at least 1 day per week in office). The job will include:
* Administrative support for all aspects of a clinical research program,
including managing budgets, communicating project progress/status to
funders, advising on and managing hiring and promotion processes.
* Plans, organizes, and completes projects in an efficient manner and
consistent with broader timelines.
* Facilitates team goal identification, setting, and tracking for internal team
members.
* Facilitates meetings with external investigators/collaborators, sets agendas,
manages meetings, and executes/delegates follow-up tasks.
* Navigates processes for research program partnerships (contracts, data use
agreements, consultants, vendors).
* Communicates in and across teams to maximize effectiveness, efficiency,
and information sharing.
* Cultivates skills to engage investigator(s) in a timely manner (e.g., what
information needs to be shared and on what timeline).
* Opportunities to co-author peer-reviewed publications and abstracts are
available.
* Some travel is expected (brief trips to meet with collaborators/funders; travel
to professional conferences).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages the components of a clinical research program.
Keeps abreast of and applies regulatory guidelines and institutional/departmental policies and procedures.
Coordinates and collates materials for grant submission (maintains up-to-date descriptions of facilities and resources, drafts and obtains letters of support, helps to develop initial budgets).
Facilitates preparation and submission of written reporting to funders; communicates project status, blockers/delays, and plans in meetings with funders.
Tracks team members' effort, strategizes, and communicates effectively about effort allocation and changes thereof.
Designs, develops, and revises standards consistent with procedures/policies of VU/VUMC and funders (e.g. budgets, guidance documents, etc.)
Monitor quality assurance and compliance (e.g., data storage consistent with IRB, data use agreements, data sharing agreements).
Exhibits strong leadership skills. Applies key concepts of facilitative leadership. Delegates tasks as appropriate and follows up to assure completion.
