Overview

This position works to ensure efficient and effective operation of the Laboratory/Pathology Department including general office administration, report generation, and coordination of specimens.

*Responsible for the transcription of pathology reports and other clerical duties.

*Experience with Medical Transcription or Pathology Transcription highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs all functions according to established policies, procedures, regulatory and accreditation requirements, as well as applicable professional standards. Provides all customers of Foundation Health with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating our core and leader behaviors each and every day.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

Requires a level of knowledge and ability normally demonstrated by at least two years of experience in a physician's office or medical environment, to include extensive knowledge of medical terminology. Must be able to type a minimum of 50 words per minute.

Requires excellent communication, organizational, problem solving, follow through, and quality assurance skills with high accuracy, attention to detail, and adaptability. Ability to prioritize and work under pressure with multipledeadlines.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associate's degree preferred.

Additional related Laboratory/Pathology education and/or experience.

Experience with Medical Transcription or Pathology Transcription preferred.

Medical Billing/Coding experience preferred.
