Job Summary:

JOB SUMMARY
Works under minimal supervision and under the general direction and supervision of the Cath Lab Manager and Administrative Director of Cardiology Services. This position is assigned the primary responsibility for maintaining and reporting ACC CathPCI, ICD, and Carotid Registries; Processing Cath Lab reports; working with Cardiology's office staff regarding reports and scheduling; Work directly with Medical Records and Coding regarding DAR and Cath reports. Assist with Chest Pain Center by gathering PCI data and assist with data entry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Responsible for maintaining Cath Lab reports and CathPCI, ICD, and carotid Registries.
* Work with Medical Records and Coding assuring accuracy and timeliness of Cath Reports and billing.
* Coordinate with the Cardiology office, Physician, and Cath Lab scheduling as needed.
* Delivery of clinical practice utilizing standards of practice and in accordance with the hospitals mission, vision and tenets.
* Copy and send out cath films, maintain log of cath films sent out.
* Assist Cath Lab as needed with patient transfers: arrange helicopter/ambulance, make contact with receiving physician and facility, copy films, maintain log of cath films sent out.
* Gather PCI data for chest pain center and assist with data entry to Chest pain Registry per guidelines.
* Adheres to all department/Hospital safety procedures for patient and material handling.

Shift Position: Monday - Friday 7am-3:30 pm

• Familiar with medical records, billing/documentation practices, Microsoft Office, and standard healthcare quality concepts.
• Ability to work independently.
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan/accomplish goals.
• Maintains a strict level of confidentiality in all aspects of work.
• Demonstrates a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Experience:

• Experience abstracting in at least one of the NCDR Registries within the last 2 years is required.
• Current BLS certification
• Communicates and works effectively with people.
