Job Summary
You'll oversee important tasks for our facility/region, including managing nursing staffing for efficiency. You'll provide leadership to various staff. You'll collaborate closely with different team members, including respiratory therapists, radiologists, social workers, and physicians. The goal is to ensure safe and efficient patient transfer in the facility and surrounding area. You will manage staff aligned with organization's goals. You'll work with System Director and Nursing Support Manager on staffing concerns. It's a great chance to make a big difference in patient care and our company.
What You'll Do
Act as the administrator of the facility's staffing and scheduling system to ensure smooth operations.
Meet on-demand staffing needs by understanding the hospital's service lines, bed capacity, patient processes, and protocols.
Work with nursing managers, administrator, and Director of Nursing Support Services to manage float pool scheduling and address staffing needs.
Manage hiring, performance, and growth of hospital float pools and staff.
Ensure that newly hired float pool staff undergo appropriate onboarding, orientation, and skills assessment before being tasked with patient care.
Keep the float pool staff up-to-date about changes in protocols, standards, and guidelines.
Act as a liaison with nursing managers concerning staffing issues, including emergency disaster procedures.
Serve as a valuable resource to nursing managers across the region for the effective and cost-efficient management of contingent workforce.
Create and enforce policies for hospital float pool in line with hospital mission and goals.
What Will Make You Successful In The Role
A thorough understanding of nursing practices and patient care norms.
Familiarity with the laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines governing nursing care, based on certifying bodies, hospital and departmental policies.
Knowledge of medical terms, health beliefs, disease prevention, and medication effects, dosages, and reactions.
Awareness of medical and professional nursing ethics, as well as patient privacy rights.
Exceptional communication skills with the ability to articulate thoughts clearly in both spoken and written form.
Ability to offer quality care to patients of all ages through nursing process and standards, respecting human diversity.
Proactive in developing, evaluating, implementing or modifying patient care plans as per the needs of personal patients.
Decision-making skills to guide work quality and productivity, set measurable goals for employees and project teams.
Supervisory skills involving hiring and termination selections.
Ability to evaluate and recommend changes to policies, as well as establish new procedures for the managed organization.
Basic computer skills include Microsoft Office, security, scheduling, payroll, medical records, and email usage.

Degree: A Bachelor's degree.
Minimum (3) three years of professional experience is needed.
