Gastroenterologist's primary role is to provide clinical care in Gastroenterology and Inflammatory Bowel Diseases and to oversee the educations of Residents, Fellows, and Medical Students within his/her practice area.
Assigned duties and responsibilities:
Provides guidance and support to the nurse practitioners and supervision to medical students and residents
Revises work schedules and assignments to meet frequent, abrupt, and unpredictable changes in prescribed workloads and deadlines to meet patient care, healthcare, agency needs.
Provides quality patient-centered patient care to both inpatients and outpatients for adults age 18-65 and older adults age 65+ as assigned by Chief, Medical Service.
Demonstrate sound decision-making skills, both clinical and administrative
Facilitate the delivery of appropriate patient care in collaboration with other health professionals, medical center staff, and management.
Systematically evaluates patient care programs in all Medicine venues.
Completes all medical record documentation, encounters, and trainee supervision attestations in the electronic medical record within prescribed timeframes.
Works without direct supervision but is administratively and clinically responsible to the Chief, Medical Service or designated Section Chief.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm (variable)

Preferred Experience: BLS/ACLS Certification Board eligible or board certified in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine or Family Practice
