Overview

The Construction Coordinator is a vital member of the FHP Design and Construction team and works directly with the Construction Project Manager & Architect to assist in defining the department's goals and objectives. The incumbent will coordinate and manage engineering and technical documentation for construction projects, facilitating various aspects of workflow, staffing, budget allocation, documentation, submittals, and scheduling of assigned projects.

Responsibilities

• Manage project documentation for essential communications during projects. Ensure consistent and accurate documentation and reporting. Receive, review, and distribute project submittals, requests for information (RFI), and the Architect's Supplemental Instructions (ASI). Maintain historical project records and documents, contracts, contractor records, employee access, insurance, permits, and associated logs.
• Assist in administering the design and construction budget. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop cost estimates of the required materials, time, labor, and other resources to complete the projects. Review project invoices and compare the actual cost of a development project to estimates. Prepare progress and cost reports for leadership.
• Facilitate the creation of strategic action plans and participate in developing project plans and designs. Schedule project meetings and work schedules, record meeting minutes, and meet each entity's individual needs.
• Assesses vendors' competence, capabilities, resources, and financial status. Monitors the completion of action items by collaborating with vendors, contractors, stakeholders, the design team, and the operations department to identify and troubleshoot problems or change plans as necessary.
• Collaborates with project manager, architect, and appointed members to facilitate the development of hospital standards in compliance with building codes, guidelines, best practices, and policies.

Qualifications

A thorough knowledge of design and construction projects as normally obtained through completing a bachelor's degree in project management, engineering, construction management, systems design, or another related field.

A minimum of three years of management experience leading multidisciplinary design teams is required.

A minimum of five years of experience in the construction and design industry managing budgets and containing costs.

A demonstrated ability to provide excellent supervisory and leadership skills.

Excellent time management and organizational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Strong verbal and written communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and a basic understanding of ISO 9000 design requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in project management, engineering, construction management, systems design, or other related fields.

Additional related education and experience preferred.
