Health Technician (Ophthalmology)
The Health Technician (Ophthalmology) triages patients, ensures efficient clinical functioning, completes screening examination and testing, performs basic & complex imaging/diagnostic testing, assists the ophthalmologist during minor ophthalmic surgical procedures, and is adept in applying sterile technique and infection control procedures. Ophthalmology Technicians in the VHA support Ophthalmologists in diagnosis, treatment, prevention, follow-up care & patient counseling. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
