Position Summary: Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Pharmacy this position is responsible to plan, organize and direct the activities of the Department of Pharmacy in the cancer care service areas, including specialty, infusion and inpatient settings.
Specifically the Director of Pharmacy is responsible for supporting all activities that will promote safe, effective and efficient use of drug therapy that optimizes patient care outcomes for the outpatient services. Such activities include managing both operations and clinical programming. Additionally, the Director of Pharmacy has oversight of all financial outcomes related to the practice of oncology pharmacy.

Translates hospital goals into departmental strategic and operating goals and objectives on an annual basis. Defines, develops and implements short and long term strategies and plans to meet organizational objectives within specified target date.
The Director will use evidence-based processes to ensure the highest level of quality, safety and service. On an annual basis develops cost savings plans with clinical leadership to minimize drug and maintains the best practice in supply chain while ensuring maximal quality and safety of drug therapy.
Directs Pharmacy operations to meet budget and other financial goals, includes but not limited to the managing of infusion, clinic reimbursement and specialty pharmacy revenue streams related to cancer care.
Directs short-term and long-range planning and budget development to support strategic business goals.
Directs quality management and continues quality improvement programs to ensure compliance with regulations and standards on an ongoing basis. Examples like overseeing and checking on daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on all aspects of operations. Ensures follow up, and closes the loop on outstanding items
Establish the performance goals, allocate resources, and assess policies for senior management.
Demonstrates successful execution of business strategies for department products and services.
Directs and participate in growth activities to support overall business objectives and plans.
Participates in market development, including participation in community outreach, community involvement, government relations work and more
Develops excellent work relationships with Hospital staff and colleagues.
Maintains, develops, establishes, and directs execution of operating policies to support overall department and organizational policies and objectives.
