On behalf of Dr. Steven Seidner, Department Chair of Pediatrics at UT Health in San Antonio, TX, CareerPhysician, LLC, a national leader in academic pediatric executive search and child health, has initiated a national search to identify two talented pediatric pulmonary physicians to join the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology. The new physicians will have opportunities to develop and lead programs as well as take part in research and resident education while the division pursues future opportunities to develop a fellowship program.
Opportunity Highlights: • UT Health is the only comprehensive pediatric academic teaching center in San Antonio and has a thriving relationship with University Hospital, a premier Level I trauma center, which houses a brand-new 300 bed women’s and children’s hospital that includes 20 LD rooms and a Level IV state-of-the-art NICU offering families private, single-family rooms, consolidating on pediatric inpatient services. • The division is prepared to support faculty with clinical interests in aerodigestive, interventional bronchoscopy, chronic ventilator, neuromuscular and asthma to expand their clinical scope through multi-disciplinary programs. • The department and hospital are committed to providing the faculty with a highly competitive compensation and benefits package which will include a salary range between 60th and 75th percentile based national surveys for pediatric academic medicine, plus a $30,000 stipend for student debt forgiveness and an exemplary benefits package. • Leadership development and external educational opportunities will be made to applicants who demonstrate interest and tangible skills as an emerging leader in clinical expertise, education or research, • UT Health recently entered in an exclusive employment contract with the premier pediatric anesthesia group in San Antonio, which will now provide exclusive anesthesia support to all pediatric sub-specialty services, creating more opportunities to expand. • This is an excellent opportunity for physicians who have a passion to work with health disparities and underserved patient populations. The patient mix for pediatrics is 66 percent Latino. • UT Health’s Cystic Fibrosis center is fully accredited by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and is a designated Therapeutic Development Center, which allows the division to bring clinical trials of new, cutting-edge therapies to patients to enhance survival and work toward a cure for CF. • Academic promotion occurs through the UT Health Long School of Medicine. The Department is open to supporting executive coaching through an internal Executive Development Program and AMSPDC resources for those who have interest in future leadership roles
