UCHealth has an excellent opportunity for a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with our well-established Pulmonology team in Northern Colorado/Fort Collins area.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing personalized, evidence-based patient care at the highest level. We are looking for someone who is a good team-player, has great communications skills, eager to learn, hard-worker and has a passion for the pulmonary/critical care patient population.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
*Requires both inpatient and outpatient care with 60% hospital base and 40% clinic base.
*Inpatient care is at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, CO, Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO, and UCHealth Greeley Hospital in Greeley, CO.
*Includes management of pulmonary floor, step-down, and ICU patients in collaboration with pulmonology/critical care physicians
*Performs rounding, new consults, admissions and discharges
*Performs history and physicals, orders and interprets tests, and orders treatments
*Coordinates with other health care professionals
*Position also includes outpatient pulmonary clinic patient management at the UCHealth Pulmonary Clinic in Fort Collins CO.
*In the clinic, you will work primarily with a team of physicians and co-manage an array of pulmonary problems from COPD, asthma, ILD, pulmonary hypertension, and sleep apnea to mention a few.
*Northern Colorado is a growing area and UCHealth is growing to meet the demands of our community. Thus, the pulmonary/critical care APP role and responsibilities is subject to grow and change in the future.

PREFERRED:
*Adult/Geriatric Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNPC-AG) preferred, may consider FNP, if agree to get ACNPC-AG within 2 years of hire or a Physician Assistant with acute care experience.
*Critical care experience (RN ICU experience is included)
*Pulmonary experience
The pay range for this position is $48.37 - $69.12/ hour. Pay is dependent on the applicant's relevant experience.

Requirements for Nurse Practitioners
*Master's degree in Nursing and graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
*Nurse Practitioner Certification issued by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or Nurse Practitioner Certification issued by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB) or Nurse Practitioner Certification issued by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) is required for hire and must be maintained throughout employment.
*Unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license issued by the State Board of Nursing in the state of Colorado or compact privileges under the multi-state Nurse Licensure Compact agreement
*Unrestricted medical staff membership, with appropriate practice privileges
*Provisional prescriptive authority working towards full prescriptive authority or Full prescriptive authority
*Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed in practice.
*Eligible to provide services reimbursable services and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid.
*Eligible to provide services with no sanctions or exclusion from either the Health and Human Services/Office of Inspectors General (HHS/OIG) or the General Services Administration's (GSA) List of Parties Excluded from Federal Programs.
*Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
*Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
Requirements for Physician Assistants
*Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
*Unrestricted license to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Colorado.
*Physician Assistant Certification (PA-C) issued by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required for hire and must be maintained throughout employment
*Unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) permit to prescribe all medications commonly prescribed in the course of practice.
*Eligible to provide services reimbursable services and maintain provider status with Medicare and Medicaid.
*Eligible to provide services with no sanctions or exclusion from either the Health and Human Services/Office of Inspectors General (HHS/OIG) or the General Services Administration's (GSA) List of Parties Excluded from Federal Programs.
*Unrestricted medical staff membership, with appropriate practice privileges.
