JOB SUMMARY: Under general supervisor, this role utilizes the nursing process to deliver care to adult to geriatric population as defined in the unit-specific structural standards of the assigned area. Work in a residential hospice facility as an UCH employee dedicated to providing compassionate end of life care in Forest Hill, Maryland.

Qualifications
Education & Training: Graduate of an accredited LPN school of nursing. Currently licensed as LPN in the State of Maryland. Certification in BCLS required.
Work Orientation & Experience: Previous experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse preferred.
Skills & Abilities: Ability to: a) read, write and comprehend medical terminology; b) effectively convey verbal and written information and medical terminology; c) perform mathematical calculations correctly; d) organize and manage time effectively setting appropriate priorities to make independent decisions consistent with current policies, procedures and nursing standards; e) respond to emergency situations appropriately; f) adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the hospice residence, including all shifts; g)effectively function as a member of a collaborative team; h) ability to assume role of Charge Nurse and demonstrate professional leadership; i)comply with OSHA standards; and J) understands and respects importance of patient privacy and confidentiality; k) develops and promotes a constructive/positive atmosphere within the work area by demonstrating the ability to maintain cooperation with and assist fellow health team member, physicians, intra and inter-departments, hospital, hospice providers and nursing administration.
