POSITION SUMMARY: Performs computed tomographic procedures including Biopsies as requested by physicians. Works closely with the Radiologist. Has the ability to manipulate exams to meet the needs of the patient and the doctor. Always practices ALARA. Always makes sure to check positive identification before performing all exams; provides care for patients while obtaining diagnostic quality images for interpretation by a Radiologist based on their protocols. Has advanced knowledge of contrast media, how it affects patients and what action to take in the event of a reaction. Checks and double checks all contrast before it is given to the patient and charts contrast usage appropriately in the patients chart. Ability to work fluidly and as a member of a team. Manage patient flow and obtain pertinent patient medical information/data. Perform QA/QC in accordance with ACR guidelines. Ability to start, maintain and remove IVs and power injector. Maintain equipment and exam rooms in optimal condition and reports malfunctions promptly.
Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent and graduation from accredited radiologic technology program.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: ARRT certification in CT required and New Mexico State licenses required. New hires will be required to have ARRT certified in CT within 6 months of being hired if they have attended an accredited CT program. BLS certification issued through American Heart Association is required within one month of hire date. IV certification preferred.

Knowledge of radiographic positioning
Knowledge and understanding of Medical terminology
Basic computer skills
Must be proficient in starting IV?s.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum one-year radiographic experience required and 1 year CT experience preferred.
NATURE OF SUPERVISION:
-Responsible to: Director, Radiology Manager, Radiology Clinical Supervisor, and CT Charge Technologist.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Lifts, positions, pushes and or transfers patients and equipment in excess of 50 pounds on a regular basis.
