Nankind is a not-for-profit organization that provides free childcare for mothers with cancer. We believe that no mother should have to choose between their own health and caring for their children. We also believe that no child should have to endure a mother’s illness or death due to cancer without support. Our mission is to lessen the impact of cancer on families through a network of specially trained volunteer Nanny Angels.

Child Life

• Contribute to NAN matching process
• Initial Contact with referral/client. Present NAN program to client
• Conduct client intakes
• Conduct initial assessment with families entering NAN service along with the assigned volunteer
• Provide volunteers with support throughout the course of service
• Manage the ongoing relationship between the family and the volunteer
• Provide individual bereavement support to children when required
• Books first visits with Child Life Specialist and Volunteers
• Maintains database/ Better Impact
• Records all contacts and correspondence with volunteers, families, and referral sources
• Contacts families monthly to update client status
• Provides feedback summaries to the team regarding client updates and volunteer feedback
• Maintains waitlist and engagement with families
• Creates Coping Kits and other collateral
• Collects updated documents from volunteers and families
• Manages special programs such as camps and daycare spots
• Creates reports from stats on volunteer visits, hours and client’s numbers, waitlist, et
• Coordinates matches of volunteers with families
• Supervises CCLS Interns and other students

• Certified Child Life Specialist
• Experience in a community setting an asset
• Experience in data management preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with Client management systems, Client Tracking preferred
