This Critical Care Medicine (CCM)-Intensivist/Nocturnist will be assigned to our Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, CO. As a CCM Intensivist/Nocturnist, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized care to critically ill medical and surgical patients in our 12-18 bed closed Intensive Care Unit and Step-Down Unit. The position involves working collaboratively with a team of advanced practice providers and critical care nurses to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care. The patient population served is mainly medical critical care, but includes cardiac, thoracic, vascular, otolaryngologic, and other surgical patients.
You will be responsible for managing complex medical conditions and emergencies, including but not limited to ventilator management, procedures (intubations, dialysis lines, central veinous lines, arterial lines, and chest tubes), admissions, cross-cover, and responding to rapid responses and codes. Selected candidates may qualify for a faculty appointment at the University of Colorado (CU), Anschutz, and will have opportunities to be involved with teaching CCM fellows in our accredited fellowship program along with medical students, medicine residents, and other learners and providers. The selected candidate will report to the Chief of Pulmonary/Critical Care. As a caregiver and clinician educator, you should have outstanding Internal Medicine & Critical Care skills. A passion for teaching with previous post-training academic experience and a history of publication in peer-reviewed CCM journals is preferred.
The ideal candidate must be a highly effective communicator, comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization, and able to successfully partner with facility leadership and other services. They should have a passion for maintaining the highest quality standards and developing a team for growth.
Work Schedule: Full-time,Mon-Sun12hr shifts (6:00 pm-6:30 am) every 2-3 weeks, no home-call
