The Department of Cardiology at the University of Minnesota is seeking a Cardiology Fellowship Program Director to lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the Cardiology Fellowship Program.
As one of the country's oldest and most prestigious programs, the University of Minnesota's fellowship program has a storied legacy of producing prominent academic cardiologists and strong clinicians and leaders in cardiology.
Position Highlights:
- Ensure that the program continues to meet all accreditation requirements, provides high-quality education, and prepares fellows to become exceptional leaders in the field of cardiology.

The Program Director's vision is expected to align closely with the division's mission and vision to be recognized as one of the best cardiology programs in the country. This includes a commitment to producing the next generation of cardiology leaders through innovative education, participation in cutting-edge research, rigorous clinical training, and a culture of excellence.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in cardiology, including teaching and mentoring cardiology fellows.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably in a medical education or fellowship program.
- Strong track record of clinical excellence, research, and scholarly activity in cardiology.
- Graduate of an accredited Cardiology fellowship-training program.
- Board eligible/certified in Cardiovascular Disease.
- Licensed or ability to acquire medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
- Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of the VISA.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in program accreditation and familiarity with ACGME requirements.
- Proven track record of innovation in medical education, including the use of simulation, technology, and other educational tools.
- Experience in curriculum development and program evaluation.
- An active research portfolio in cardiology and medical education.
