At Labcorp Drug Development in Harrogate, North Yorkshire we are looking to recruit a Validation Scientist - Immunochemistry with commercial experience to join the Method Validation Team in the Immunochemistry division in the Bioanalytical, large molecule team.
Job responsibilities include:
Organizes and performs routine to advanced level of method validation testing (and all associated activities) with independence and efficiency in compliance with applicable methods, protocols, SOPs, and regulatory agency guidelines
Writes and reviews training materials and delivers training/mentorship of staff in relevant techniques, procedures and provide expert advice on training requirements
Demonstrates advanced time management skills and manages work on multiple assigned projects in a given week, and liaise and coordinate work activities with team members in order to deliver data (right first time) to internal clients. Serves as lead chemist on projects, overseeing a small group of technical staff, with minimal supervision
Effectively interacts with colleagues within Bioanalytical site and globally. Support others in their duties to ensure all scheduled operational activities are completed on each given day by effective and concise communication with team members, and ability to listen and discuss ideas in an open and professional manner
Participates in process improvement initiatives. Actively supports the evaluation and implementation of new methodologies and instrumentation
Able to review work of others for overall accuracy, timeliness, completeness, and soundness of technical judgment. Ability to implement an action plan for solving project or technical problems as they occur. Independently reviews scientific content, accuracy, and study validity in documents (e.g. analytical methods, protocols, reports) prior to sponsor review for all study types

Ability to work with a variety of different clients on wide ranging projects
Education:
Ideally you will be educated to BSc level in a relevant scientific subject
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience
Ideally you will have experience of analysis such as ELISA, ideally in the pharmaceutical/ CRO industry
You should be familiar with the use of standard laboratory equipment (e.g., balances, pipettes, centrifuges) and have experience with use and troubleshooting of analytical equipment
A good understanding of health and safety policies, Company policies and procedures, and an understanding of GxP
You should be able to communicate effectively at all levels, with other employees, as well as external clients, suppliers, etc
