·       In addition to its public-school system, it has several private schools. Higher-level educational institutions include private Berry College and Shorter University, and the public Georgia Northwestern Technical College and Georgia Highlands College.

·       Largest city near the center of the triangular area defined by the Interstate highways between Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL, and Chattanooga, TN.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Performs all types of ultrasound procedures on in-patients and outpatients.  Maintains competency in ultraslound procedures performed on in-patients, outpatients, as well as emergency and operating room patients.  Operates all ultrasound diagnostic equipment.    Performs routine diagnostic and portable exams when needed.  Transports patients, processes film, and prepares radiographic rooms with supplies and medications as needed.  Reviews orders and reviews films for correct identification before submitting for a radiologists’ interpretation.  Assists with clerical duties as needed.  Participates in radiology QI or Quality Improvement program.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

·       Must have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, which addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age appropriate needs of the patient population served within the department.

Qualifications

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:

·       Must take and successfully pass an ultrasound registry within one year of original hire date if hired as a new graduate of an approved program.  If not a new graduate certification is required as a condition of employment.  Current BCLS certification is required.
