About the Role:
Job Summary
The Payment Poster is responsible for ensuring all medical payments received by mail, electronic downloads or telephone are applied to patient accounts in a timely and accurate manner. The Payment Poster is also responsible for applying zero payments and adjustments to patient accounts.
Minimum Job Qualifications
Licensure or other certifications:
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum Experience: Two (2) years or more experience in billing, collections, and/or reimbursement in a medical setting.

Reconciliation skills
Posses a firm understanding of debits and credits, electronic payment posting
Have the ability to interpret EOBs
Must possess strong computer skills and the ability to multi task and prioritize
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities
Processes payments from insurance companies, patients and electronic funds transfers daily.
Assumes responsibility for staying updated on changes to payor contracts and fee schedule.
Advises Posting Manager of unusual trends in denied charges, rejected claims or other issues that affect reimbursement.
Insures pay corrections are completed prior to month end closing.
Corrects accounts as designated by other employees or management.
Maintains payment posting to within two days of posting. Advises Posting Manager if this is a problem at any time.
Routes all EOB's to the designated Biller/Collector to follow up on unpaid claims and/or zero posting.
Routes EOB's posted to batch unmatched to designated collector for follow-up.
Informs Posting Manager of all postings to unmatched account.
Drops charges and/or adjustments as requested and approved by management.
Assists other employees and/or management with any issues pertaining to payment adjustment and/or zero (denial) payments.
Assists with special projects as assigned.
