Nemours is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider, ENT to join our Nemours Children's Health team in Deptford, NJ, and Wilmington, DE.
The Otolaryngology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) provides independent and collaborative care as a member of the Otolaryngology team for pediatric patients requiring diagnosis, evaluation and treatment of conditions involving ears, nose, and throat disorders. The APP will work in collaboration with physicians to assist with the overall care of the patients in Otolaryngology at our Wilmington, DE and Deptford, NJ locations.
Essential Functions
1. Perform history and physical examinations in the outpatient setting.
2. Enter patient information and patient prescriptions into the electronic medical record.
3. Triage and respond to phone calls from referring physician, patients and their families, allied health professionals, insurance companies, etc. regarding patient care.
4. Educate parents or legal guardians and other involved personnel on patient condition and plan of care. Provide general education and information on an ongoing basis to all personnel who are members of or work with the Divisions of Otolaryngology.
5. See patients in the outpatient setting and write clinic notes on patients as medically indicated.
6. Communicate with appropriate medical staff for purposes of consultation, referral, and coordination of patient care and other service issues.
7. Perform office-based procedures under the supervision of an attending physician. This may include removal of cerumen, assist with flexible fiberoptic laryngoscopy, etc.
8. Participate in divisional, departmental, and hospital programs for Quality Assessment and Improvement, identifying opportunities to improve services, making recommendations, and implementing actions as appropriate and consistent with the goals of Nemours.
9. Participate in Otolaryngology program planning and development.
10. Demonstrate proficiency in the care of all age groups- neonates, infants, toddlers, school aged, adolescents, and adults.
11. Serve as a consultant within specialty area for colleagues both intra and extra departmentally and in the community.
12. Demonstrate effective communication skills with health care team and patient, family, and members of the health care team.
13. Maintain current knowledge base of specialty area and promotes standards of care.
Requirements
- Active Delaware (or compact state) Registered Nurse Licensure required.
- Active New Jersey Registered Nurse Licensure required.
- Active Delaware and New Jersey Advanced Practice Nurse Licensure, with prescriptive authority required, OR Active Delaware and New Jersey Physician Assistant License
- Delaware Controlled Substance Registration (CSR)
- Federal DEA registration with Delaware Address and Jersey Address.
- Current certification as an Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner or current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
- Current AHA Healthcare Provider (HCP) Certification required.
- Experience preferred; Will consider new to practice.
