BJC HealthCare System is hiring a Full-Time Monitor Tech (Night shift) for Alton Memorial Hospital - Intensive Care Unit
Position Details:
Full-Time (36 hours per week)
Overnight Shift Hours: 7pm - 7:30AM)
Monitoring EKG Rhythms & other vital signs on a monitor for up to 12 patients in the ICU & 16 patients on the Acute Medical Care Unit
Notifying nurse of abnormal findings on the monitor
Trained to recognize normal and abnormal heart rhythms
Assist with clerical duties such as answering phones, entering patient information, stocking supplies
Patient Care
High attention detail & Dependability needed – as the role requires someone to report changes rapidly to the nurse
Experience:
Monitor tech experience (preferred but not required)
Familiar with working in Windows
Entry level position – great opportunity for someone interested in healthcare to gain valuable experience and exposure.
Requirements:
High School Diploma, GED or higher level of education

Alton Memorial offers patients a variety of inpatient and outpatient services, including surgery services, medical imaging, interventional and diagnostic heart services, cancer care, rehabilitation, 24-hour emergency care, ambulance services and more.
Intensive Care is a medical/surgical 12 bed unit with capability to handle medical emergencies/hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management of the adult patient. Critical Care Physician management is available on consult for primary physicians if req
Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
Assists with long term monitoring vital to patient care in the observation of patients with cardiac arrhythmia, suspected arrhythmia, drug intervention per floor with need for observation, and potential of life threatening cardiac events. Initiates first response and responders to at risk patients.
Responsibilities
Supports and demonstrates the continuous improvements of quality and service.
Observes, reports, and documents patient?s cardiac rhythm.
Ensures that cardiac monitoring equipment is functioning appropriately.
