As a Laboratory Assistant within our Necropsy (animal) team based in Harrogate, NorthYorkshire you will play an integral part in achieving our mission by providing laboratory based technical and operational support to colleagues working on studies.
Whilst training you will learn a broad range of standard technical laboratory skills, software systems and techniques including how to work to Good Laboratory Practice (GLP).
Duties include routine procedures and duties associated with the day to day running of the laboratory areas which will include some lifting.
You will also be taking delivery of samples for the Necropsy team, using correct storage procedures, and dispatch of samples, internal and external. Stock control, reagent preparation. along with ordering of consumables, archive preparation, cleaning and storage of equipment.
All training will be provided
You will need the following skills to be successful in the role:
Excellent attention to detail
Ability to accurately read, record, and communicate information
Excellent communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills
Able to work in a team
Good time management skills and ability to work to deadlines
Education / Qualifications:
Minimum GCSE level or equivalent including Maths, English and Science
