The Staff Chaplain provides spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff of varying faith traditions and no faith.
Responsibilities: 1.Provides spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff of varying faith traditions and no faith.
2.Develops and leads inter-faith prayer and worship opportunities, memorial services, and rituals as deemed appropriate.
3.Provides spiritual assessment and care plan which addresses age appropriate and developmental specific needs as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
4.Provides education to identified audiences related to the spiritual needs of children and their families.
5.Participates in committees as assigned and may conduct research into the spiritual care of the sick.
6.Maintains professional integrity.
7.Other duties as required.
Other information: Technical Expertise 1.Experience in provision of spiritual care for all age groups is required.
2.Experience working with all levels within an organization is required.
3.Experience in healthcare is preferred.
4.Proficiency in MS Office [Outlook, Excel, Word] or similar software is required.
Education and Experience 1.Education: Master of Divinity degree or related field is required. 4 units of clinical pastoral education is required with at least 2 units in a pediatric setting is preferred.
2.Certification: Association of Professional Chaplains, National Association of Catholic Chaplains, National Association of Jewish Chaplains, or other National Chaplaincy certifying body is required within two years of hire.
3.Years of relevant experience: 0 to 2 years is preferred.
