Full-Time Days: 6:45 am - 7:15 pm
Rotating weekends and holidays
Unit:
This 42-bed unit is fast-paced, team-oriented, and flexible to accommodate the needs of our patients and families.
We care for pediatric patients ranging in age from newborns to 18 years old and even older who are being treated for all types of injuries and illnesses. We also respond to emergencies within our hospital. Care is provided for the entire spectrum of patient acuities from non-emergent care to Level 1 Trauma care.
Our patients are unique because of their emergent and diverse needs. We never know who is going to come through our doors!
One of the perks of working on our unit is the opportunity to work in a dedicated Pediatric Emergency Department. We have the privilege of interacting with people at a time in their life when they need our help. The chance to offer hope and healing is a beautiful thing.
Care Partner Position Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent experience) AND one of the following:
Current enrollment in a program of professional nursing RN and successful completion of the first semester of nursing school to include nursing fundamentals clinical, or
Graduation from a Nursing Assistant or Aide Training Program within the past year (the certification is not mandatory but a certificate of completion is necessary), or
Minimum of one year of previous (and within the past two years) experience as a care partner or nursing assistant/patient care technician.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the delivery of patient care and maintenance of unit environmental standards under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
* Assists with day-to-day delivery of patient care.
* Facilitates efficient and safe patient care and flow by following work area standards.
* Serves as a liaison for communication and education of patient and family needs.
Supports unit operations and patient flow by maintaining supplies, equipment, and unit environmental standards.

CLINICAL COMPETENCIES (Novice): Demonstrates competence with interventions (such as point of care testing, vital signs, etc.) in practical applications of moderate difficulty.
CARE PARTNER PATIENT DOCUMENTATION (Novice): Independently works with clinical applications for patient documentation.
ENVIRONMENT OF CARE (Novice): Demonstrates ability to set up and maintain patient rooms, supplies, and equipment. Possesses sufficient knowledge, training, and experience to be capable of successfully delivering environment of care services while requiring some support and instruction from others. Able to train and educate peers by setting the example, giving technical support, providing leadership, and generally elevating the level of performance of others while on the job.
