Additional Information About the Role
Support Evelyn's house in a new Registered Nurse Patient Care supervisor role for the night shift. Lead night shift team of about 15 RNs, LPNs, and CNAs. Manage scheduling, employee performance, and medication support.
Schedule 6 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. - Tues-Friday
Experience
2 years of supervisory and/or hospice experience preferred
People leadership experience a plus.
Overview
BJC Home Care offers patients and their families a complete range of home care services, including skilled nursing services, adult and pediatric hospice and supportive care, rehabilitation therapy, home infusion therapy, infusion treatment rooms, home medical equipment and high-tech respiratory care. Specialty home care programs also are available, including adult and pediatric asthma, cardiac, diabetes, orthopedic and wound care programs.

Evelyn’s House is the newest addition to BJC Hospice and BJCs continuum of care for patients with life-limiting illness. Evelyn’s House staff are sensitive to the physical, psychosocial, emotional and spiritual needs of terminally ill adult and pediatric patients and their families. We provide a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals and volunteers, specially trained in pain and symptom management, counseling, and bereavement services for the dying. BJC Hospice services include alternative therapies such as music, art and massage therapy. BJC Hospice programs provide palliative care by helping patients manage their pain and symptoms while living their lives with daily peace and dignity.

Role Purpose
Administers and coordinates patient care services for Home Care & Hospice departments. Ensures services meet Medicare/Medicaid, TJC and department requirements.
Responsibilities
Coordinates all patient care services provided by the office.
Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals. This includes responding to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
Performs on-site supervisory visits and serves as clinical resource to home care staff.
Coordinates services with other health care providers.
Provides leadership, manages, and directs daily patient care and staff activities.
