Role Purpose
The Executive Director, ACNO (Peds), in Patient Care Services, works collaboratively with the HSO Chief Nursing Officer and Leadership teams to develop and implement patient care delivery models, evidence based clinical and professional practice standards and policies, as well as innovative staffing strategies. The Executive Director also collaborates with hospital leaders to enhance capacity and throughput as well as an interprofessional/interdisciplinary approach to care delivery. The Executive Director provides leadership and direction in accordance with HSO goals and objectives. Under general direction of the HSO CNO, the role will be assigned local and/or system level patient care/process improvement activities in accordance with the strategic plan and defined BJC policies and objectives. In the absence of the CNO, the Executive Director represents the CNO and assumes responsibility for the scope of the CNO’s responsibilities as a member of the HSO Leadership Team. Participates in the development of new, well-coordinated and standardized educational and research programs for expansion of nursing and patient care services. May lead strategic, system-level patient-care/process improvement activities.
Responsibilities
Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: onboarding and hiring, training, workload management & performance evaluations, conducting professional development plans as needed. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
Participates in the strategic planning of the organization to optimize the role/functions of patient care services staff and supporting structures and systems.
Champions collaboration between all departments/divisions to ensure that nursing, non-nursing patient care, ancillary and support services are integrated to provide highly reliable safe, efficient quality patient care outcomes as well as an excellent customer centric experience.
Champions effective recruitment and retention strategies for nursing and other patient care disciplines, assisting to lead development and implementation of new, innovative care delivery models and strategies
Champions collaboration among all BJC shared services and HSOs to ensure that nursing, non-nursing patient care, ancillary and support services are integrated to provide highly reliable safe, efficient, quality patient care outcomes as well as an excellent customer centric experience.
