Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Principal Technical Product Manager
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Technology Policy and Standards Manager to oversee the development, implementation, and governance of forward-looking technology policies and standards at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. This role will be crucial in ensuring that policies are aligned with MSK's mission to provide the best care for patients and are in compliance with industry regulations, best practices, and organizational needs. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally to streamline policy processes, improve communication, and ensure compliance with relevant technology standards that are vital to MSK's operations.
Role Overview
- Shape and manage the organization's IT governance strategy by developing and maintaining effective policies and standards.
- Align IT policies and standards with business goals, regulatory requirements, and industry standards, particularly in healthcare.
- Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams to ensure policies are clearly understood and effectively implemented.
- Drive compliance efforts to mitigate IT risks and support organizational resilience.
- Foster collaboration across legal, security, compliance, and business teams to ensure policy alignment and risk mitigation.
- Navigate complex regulatory environments with a focus on healthcare-specific requirements like HIPAA.
- Lead efforts to communicate IT policies effectively to diverse stakeholders, including executives and non-technical staff.
- Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while ensuring the timely delivery of governance objectives.
Key Qualifications
- Extensive experience in IT policy development and governance.
- Expertise in healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and governance frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ISO 27001).
- Proven leadership in managing cross-functional teams and complex governance processes.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to simplify complex policy language.
- Experience with policy management tools (e.g., Confluence, SharePoint).
Core Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and manage IT policies to address business needs and mitigate risks.
- Oversee policy implementation, ensuring consistent compliance across the organization.
- Manage policy intake, review, and approval processes in alignment with governance frameworks.
- Conduct risk assessments to evaluate and enhance policy effectiveness.
- Communicate policies and risks clearly to leadership and non-IT stakeholders.
- Lead training initiatives to educate employees on IT policies and procedures.
