The role you’ll contribute:

The RN Coordinator / Charge Nurse in addition to the responsibilities of a staff nurse is responsible for providing continuity of nursing care to surgical/procedural patients of all groups (may include neonate to geriatric). Assesses plans, implements and evaluates individual patient care. Functions in the role of team facilitator / specialty coordinator. Supervises other health care team members in the unit environment. Assists with orientation, training, and education of new personnel. Responsible for documentation of care and maintaining accurate records. Assists with maintaining a safe and therapeutic environment for all patients. Responsible for cost containment. Assists with Performance Improvement. Adheres and assures that staff adhere to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.

• Coordinates the continuity of nursing care provided and takes the initiative to ensure appropriate levels and quality of care will be provided. Collaborates with other departments and disciplines to provide continuity of patient care and promote teamwork.
• Acts as a liaison between physicians, sales consultants, internal customers and management team with pertinent and ongoing communication.
• Collaborates with the Management team regarding daily staffing needs, determining coverage for both daily and future needs.  Makes adjustments to the daily schedule to accommodate changes and coordinate staff assignments while maintaining operational efficiency.  Assesses staff competence when making assignments. 
• Supports the customer and employee satisfaction activities of the organization.  Maintains good relationships with physicians, management, other departments, and staff.
• Able to identify individualized plan of care through the use of APIE.  Participates in practice changes as a result of performance improvement activities.
• Demonstrates accurate documentation and monitoring of activities as needed. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department.  Adheres to all policies and procedures

Qualifications

• Graduate of nursing school
• Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing as a registered professional nurse
• CPR certification
• Specialty Certification (Preferred)
• Demonstrated Experience in the clinical setting related to area of specialty (Preferred)

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements. 

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• • Articulates comprehensive knowledge of general nursing theory and specialty nursing theory and practice for all age groups.
  • Computer knowledge and skills.
  • Leadership experience (charge nurse or higher)
