DescriptionProvide leadership in the development and execution of communications technology and architecture for a university medical system including the design, planning, assessment, implementation and operation of wireless & network access control (NAC) projects. Lead design and implementation of wireless network solutions for new healthcare facilities; conduct network assessments, site surveys and spectrum analysis for optimal and secure wireless LAN performance. Evaluate network technologies including cloud-based wireless platforms, security technologies, and AI-ML-based analytics and operations. Automate network configurations and operations using software and tools. Oversee management of enterprise project deliverables including project deliveries, project tasks, project documentation and reports, build, installation, performance monitoring, optimization, troubleshooting and maintenance. Lead a team of network engineers in the implementation and support of network equipment, network software, daily operational incidents, service request tickets, incident escalation, network maintenance and network configuration. Manage day-to-day support of the 24 x 7 production environment of ISS enterprise network including Cisco routers, switches, ASRs, Palo Alto, ASA firewall, VOIP, and other enterprise communication management infrastructures. Oversee resource allocation and management including weekly huddles and performance reviews.

Annual range: $178,880 to $227,700/year
QualificationsRequired: Bachelor’s degree in network engineering, electronics engineering, computer science or a related field. Ten years of experience in job offered, or as a network engineer or a related occupational title. Alternatively, the employer will accept master’s degree in network engineering, electronics engineering, computer science or a related field and eight years of experience in job offered, or as a network engineer or a related occupational title, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certification in at least one of the following: Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert Enterprise Wireless (CCIE Enterprise Wireless), Aruba Certified Mobility Expert (ACMX) or Certified
Wireless Network Expert (CWNE).
The following years of experience can be gained concurrently together, and along with the number of years of required experience, not in addition to.
• 8 years of experience working in a large network enterprise environment;
• 8 years of experience working with infrastructure technology;
• 8 years of experience in network design or network support.
The following skills and experience do not require a set amount of time as demonstration of proficiency.
• Demonstrated experience with the following hardware technologies: Aruba Wireless Controller and Access Points or Cisco Wireless Controller and Access Points.
• Demonstrated experience with the following operating systems and software: Aruba OS, Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager, Aruba Central, Aruba Airwave Management Platform, Aruba UXI monitoring tool, Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Ekahau Pro Wireless Design, Site Survey, Spectrum Analysis, AirMagnet Survey, AirMagnet Planner, AirMagnet WiFi Analyzer, AirMagnet Spectrum Analyzer, Windows, Microsoft Office Suite, MS Visio, Packet Analyzer.
• Demonstrated experience managing network wireless operations.
• Experience with wireless network security architecture design.
• Experience with implementation and management of wireless network engineering projects.
• Experience with budget and resource management including adherence to budget and performing resource forecasting.
• Experience drafting technology request for proposals (RFP), performing product demonstrations and proof of concepts (POC), and evaluating products and solutions.
• Experience leading large scale wireless project implementation with over 1000 access points.
• Experience conducting strategic planning and need analysis.
• Experience resolving highly critical wireless issues, including network down.
• Experience identifying new opportunities for process improvements, standards, initiatives and technology adoption.
• Experience with wireless intrusion detection system (IDS) and intrusion prevention system (IPS).
• Demonstrated knowledge of radio frequency fundamentals and 802.11 standards and protocols. Experience utilizing REST API and Webhook.
• Experience communicating in oral and written communications.
• Experience mentoring and coaching peers and team members.
