The Southeast Louisiana VA Health Care System in New Orleans, LA, is seeking a full-time, BC/BE, Family Medicine/Internal Medicine Physician to serve as a member of its Primary Care Team in Hammond, LA. Situated along the bank of the Mississippi River in Southern Louisiana, New Orleans, also widely known as ‘NOLA’, was dubbed as “The Big Easy”, for its unparalleled nightlife, diverse music scene and unyielding City spirit. Highlights of this position include:
Competitive Starting Salary $240,000-$275,000
Position is located at our Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC) in Hammond, LA
Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm.
Provide care to approximately 12-20 outpatients daily in an outpatient setting
Responsible for all facets of acute patient care
Consult with specialists and subspecialists
Actively participate in performance improvement activities, formal or informal to improve quality and safety of care
Order appropriate diagnostic testing
Virtual or non-face to face clinical interactions with patients including telephone calls, secure messages, and 'VA Video Connect' visits
Additional Requirements:
Must be board eligible, prefer board certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Experience in FM/IM
Must be computer-literate with computer skill
Must be a U.S. Citizen. Non-Citizen candidates will be considered if a U.S. Citizen is not found
Full and unrestricted license from any U.S. State
